BANNERS presentes WINE AND ALCHEMY Friday April 9 7:30 PM in the ROSA HART THEATRE in the LAKE CHARLES CIVIC CENTER. This group plays world music, spiced up with an infusion of world belly dancing – including sword dancing, veil spinning and fan dancing. Music inspiration for the group comes from the musical genres of Celtic, Renaissance, French, Greek, Sephardic, Armenian, Flamenco and Middle Eastern. The instrumentation is also exotic—the musicians play the Greek Bouzouki, flamenco guitar, penny whistle, rauschpfiefe… as well as the familiar accordion. The drum kit is a range of doumbeks and djembes, as well as a custom made bass drum and foot tambourine. This is not a typical musical experience! TICKETS $20 adults, $5 students, free to McNeese students with ID. |
