Monday June 7, 14, 21, 28, & Sunday July 4. If you like good music and the great outdoors, then grab your favorite blanket or comfy lawn chair and soak in the music each Monday evening during the Catch a Concert series by the Lake Charles Community Band. The free concerts start at 7 p.m. each Monday in June at the Lake Charles Civic Center Arcade Pavilion. Music-lovers are encouraged to bring a picnic dinner and enjoy the sunset over the lake as the band, under the direction of Rod Lauderdale and Leo Murray plays musical favorites from past and present. In case of rain, the concerts will be held at the Lake Charles Civic Center 2nd floor Mezzanine. Catch a Concert is sponsored by the City of Lake Charles' Parks and Recreation Department and ConocoPhillips. The band is also supported by a partnership grant from the Arts and Humanities Council of Southwest Louisiana and the City of Lake Charles, as well as a grant from the Louisiana Division of the Arts, Office of Cultural Development, Department of Culture, Recreation and Tourism in cooperation with the Louisiana State Arts Council as administered by The Arts and Humanities Council of SWLA.
