MEET THE PRESS
For more than six decades NBC’s Meet the Press has proudly brought America interviews with newsmakers from around the world, using the latest technology, beginning with our first radio shows in 1945.
Within two years the broadcast expanded into the then-fledgling world of television. With the creation of MSNBC in 1996, Meet the Press quickly evolved onto the Internet, opening up world-wide access to the program and making entire show transcripts , along with further guest and topic information, available at the click of a mouse to viewers seeking an opportunity to review each week’s program.
As Internet technology advanced, Meet the Press led the way, adding streaming video clips of each week’s show to our site, giving MSNBC.com users access to key portions of Meet the Press after the program had aired.
Shortly afterwards, a Meet the Press email newsletter was also introduced, providing more direct communication with our viewers, and adding the opportunity to send Meet the Press an email and even submit what question you'd ask our Meet the Press guests .
In 2005, Meet the Press podcasting was introduced, allowing Meet the Press fans to download the audio from each week’s show to their computer or MP3 player and listen to Meet the Press when and where they wanted.
Before 2005 ended, Meet the Press took the next step — the Meet the Press netcast — making each week’s entire show available on the Internet a little more than an hour after the program ends on broadcast television.
