Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport has been named America’s most luxurious airport in a new study by Travel by Luxe. The airport scored 73.56 out of 100 points, leading with 85 shopping venues and 63 luxury lounges. Detroit also ranked second nationally for fine dining, with 77.34 percent of restaurants offering table service and average dinner prices at $41. Los Angeles International finished second despite having the country’s highest meal costs at $50. Orlando International achieved 100 percent fine dining availability, the only airport to do so. Chicago O’Hare led in private suites with 71 facilities. “High-quality dining, wellness spaces, private suites, and lounges aren’t just nice extras anymore,” said Amy Doherty from Travel by Luxe. Major hubs like JFK ranked 28th, showing size doesn’t guarantee luxury amenities. (Story URL)
